Disclaimer: I am ridiculously body positive and I truly believe that we all deserve to love and appreciate ourselves just as we are… BUT I am also living proof that building strength and quality nourishment can make you feel like a beautiful badass no matter what else is going on in your life. Endorphins, perhaps? Learning to show up and push through? Resilience? I don't know but, either way, feeling like you are well cared for and confident is worth the effort. Three cheers for a summer of self-love and building a strong, nourished, self!
As spring unfolds, the energy to clean up and revitalize surges. Preparing for summer goals evokes visions of beachside lounging and lots of fun in the sun! I don't know about you guys, but this late winter is teasing spring and I CAN'T WAIT.
I think we can all agree that when it comes to summer fun we want to feel as confident and healthy as can be. Don't you just feel a bit better about when you are in a comfortable, healthy, groove?! Showing up for yourself IN ALL THE ways- nourishing and supporting the body with quality nutrition, easing aches and pains with strength and stretching, all while cultivating a compassionate perspective of growth and appreciation?!
ABSOLUTELY. Where do we sign up?!
Making supportive lifestyles changes can bring some benefits quickly, while others take lots of time and consistency to experience. The best part? Energy boost, good sleep, less aches, and reduced stress can be noticed almost immediately! Have you ever found yourself in a workout routine for only a short time, but insist you feel sleeker and stronger?! Or the nice solid sleep you get on gym day. Many can attest that exercise and strength training offer significant boosts in focus, mood, and confidence, LONG BEFORE the body composition changes that many people want to see as they begin making changes.
Okay, okay, it's fantastic… but where do you really begin?!
First, lets recognize that there is a physique that's meant for just for us. There are ways to strengthen and tone to tweak, but some changes will just never turn out on our body when it is healthy and thriving. Ultimately, we must find ways to embrace our ourselves just as we are along the way. This journey is truly one of self-nourishment and acceptance. THAT'S IT. The other benefits are just the beautiful cherries on top!!!
Reclaim energy, strength, and vitality:
Mindful Nutrition: Clean eating isn’t just about shedding pounds; it's about nourishing your body with the goodness it deserves and a commitment to your health. Prioritize foods rich in fiber, stay hydrated with plenty of water, and ensure a diverse intake of nutrients, all while keeping your protein intake up. Clean eating isn’t a diet; it's a lifestyle that supports your overall well-being by providing lots of prebiotic, probiotic, nutrients, WHILE ASLO eliminating processed additives hindering the body (and usually environment; think sugars, preservatives, plastics, etc).
Health Benefits of Clean Eating: By fueling your body with whole, nutrient-dense foods, you'll not only feel better but also reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Clean eating supports better digestion, improved energy levels, and glowing skin, among other benefits!
Mind-Body Connection: It's not always long difficult workouts. There is plenty to be said for practicing micro movements and cultivating the mind-body connection through exercises like Pilates or yoga. These forms of exercise not only strengthen your muscles but also enhance your mental focus and resilience.
Benefits of Exercise on Health and Weight Loss: Beyond the physical changes, exercise offers profound benefits for your health and weight management. Similar to the benefits of clean eating, regular physical activity reduces the risk of various health conditions, including obesity, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis. It boosts your metabolism, improves cardiovascular health, and enhances mood and mental well-being.
Start Slow, Master the Basics: Begin with core movements, focusing on engaging your core and pelvic muscles. Gradually progress and incorporate weights as you build strength and confidence. Starting slow and mastering the basics, you lay a strong foundation for your fitness journey, ensuring long-term success and enjoyment. Prioritizing proper body mechanics, helps set yourself up for a lifetime of injury-free movement.
Remember, the journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle is holistic. It's about nurturing your body, mind, and spirit, and embracing the process with love and acceptance. So here's to a summer filled with self-love, strength building, and endless possibilities! Let's show up, push through, and emerge as the beautiful, badass individuals we were always meant to be.
